Birla Mandir Graces Hyderabad's Skyline

Birla Mandir is one of the most beautiful structures in the city of Hyderabad. Here’s a peek view on the temple’s magnificent history.

The Birla Mandir is snugly tucked on the top of a hillock, which is called Naubat Pahad. It is one of the most visited tourist spots in the city of Hyderabad by both devotees and tourists. The temple boasts of its beautifully crafted white marble structure, which symbolizes divinity and elegance.

"Mr Birla, who was on a visit to the city, was looking through the window of his hotel room one morning. He saw the hillock and a divine thought came to him. He knew that God wanted him to build an abode where people could come, meditate and worship. That's how the idea of building the temple was first born," says Shyam Kothari, the Secretary of Birla Archeological and Cultural Research Institute.

Facts Pertaining to the Temple
The temple was inaugurated on the 13th February, 1976. The site was home to a small Hanuman temple before Birla Mandir was built. "Many people told the Birlas to break down the old Hanuman temple before building the new Mandir. But they decided against it. The only thing that was removed from the site was an old banyan tree. The new structure was built around the existing Hanuman temple. That's the reason why you'll find two places of worship dedicated to Lord Hanuman at the Birla Mandir today,"

The United Nations Conference on Biodiversity

The United Nations Conference on Biodiversity has started today here in Hyderabad, and security is beefed up, as we often see policemen inducted in every half kilometer from Kondapur to Hitech city.

This has already created traffic jam followed by road reconstruction and repair. I always notice rude behavior of those driving their vehicles and bikes due to heavy traffic jam. Now think of any driver on duty in a travel sector. If they become little impatient, we reply back to them even more rudely than they do, and bring their compliant. It’s time to think!

Hats off to them for their 24X7 patience and still be nice to most of the passengers who travel by inter-city and intra-city buses.

Choosing the right Bus Service

Its always important to choose the right Bus Operator Service. While planning a Bus Trip, one must always remember a couple of things. Comfort, punctuality, reputation, ticket cost etc.. Some operators are comfortable but are not punctual. They may arrive late at the pickup point or reach late at their destination. Some Bus Operators have a bad habit of multiplying their seat cost during demand days like weekends or holidays.

Choosing the right bus service is no mystery. All you need to know are type of buses that are available on your desired route. It becomes easier once you know the type of Bus service you need.

Comfort Range: Multi Axle Volvo, Mercedes Multi Axle, Volvo semi sleeper.

Operators that have these buses: Kesineni Travels, Orange Travels, Sree Kaleswari Travels, Neeta Travels etc

Sleeper Range: AC Hitech, Volvo sleepers(only select routes)

Operators that have sleeper buses: Kesineni Travels, Diwakar Travels, Orange Travels etc

Non AC Economic Range: Non Ac Push back, Seater

Buses Operators like Kesineni Travels provide various range of buses from multi axle volvo's to non ac buses and sleepers at a decent price. They even have buses to major cities on different timings.

Happy journey!

Flight vs Rail vs Bus

There are many ways to get from Point A to Point B, and each one offers a different amount of speed, safety, comfort, cost, and environmental impact.  How could you begin to compare all these different variables? Well, you don't have to, because we've done it for you.

Fastest: Bus or train (short trips), Plane (long trips)

Flying doesn't save you any time when the trip is short. First off, you're supposed to arrive at the airport 60-90 minutes before your flight, and it will probably take you at least 30 minutes each way to drive, taxi, or bus to the airport. That's 2 to 2.5 hours right there, not counting flight time.

Overnight trains/buses are often more convenient than flying. That's because the time you spend sleeping on the train isn't wasted time. A plane might take 3 hours while a train takes 11, but if you spend 8 hours of that sleeping in a nice bed on the train or a sleeper coach, then the train is a better option. You won't have to hassle with airport security, you might not have to check your baggage, your mobile phone will likely work throughout the trip, and you won't have the cost of a hotel room.

While airfare is relatively cheap, you have to buy well in advance to get the best fare. A couple of years ago when I repeatedly checked the price for a particular flight, gradually increasing the lead time on each search, the fare got progressively cheaper up to 30 days -- at which point I stopped checking. Anyway, the point is, while airfare can be cheap, you have to buy well in advance to get the best fare. The penalty for buying at the last minute on a train or bus is generally much lighter by comparison.

While Rail is the cheapest mode of transportation. Its always difficult to get a confirm seat in any tier. Rail travel especially during season is very difficult if you do not purchase the ticket well in advance. You need to book at least 2 months prior to the journey. Compare to Flights and Buses, Rail travel is cheaper and convenient as it allows the freedom of movement.

Bus Travel and Essentials

Last minute booking are always tough. Its always better to plan a journey ahead. Always ensure the following points to assure you have a comfortable journey.

Things you need to keep in mind while you book tickets at the last minute.
  • Always carry a printed copy of your bus ticket.
  • Make sure you reach your boarding point 30 minutes before the time mentioned.
  • Its always a better practice to call the bus operator and make sure where the bus is located. In most cases the buses do not enter the city. Operators use mini vans to pickup passengers.
  • Last minute bookings come at a cost. Once a ticket is booked, there is no option to cancel the seats. Its is tough for the operator to get a last minute replacement, hence they charge 100% cancellation fee
  • Always choose a higher rated bus service. Customer service is important. Most bus operators have punctuality issues, some have behavior issues. Its always advisable to ask your booking agent for a honest opinion.
  • Unlike flight and Train, its better to travel lite while traveling on a Bus. Extra luggage is chargeable.
  • Some high rated operators provide snacks and water on board a bus. Its always advisable to carry snacks and water.
Have a safe and comfortable jouryney!!
